Firewalkers, Dragon Elves, Dragons, Phoenixes, Dryads

Often mistaken as Elves, Dragons, Phoenixes and a few other titles, is Firewalkers or sometimes also called Dragon Elves are a very ancient nearly immortal alien race of Therianthropes.

What makes them so unusual is their physiology which allows these shape shifters to take any animal or humanoid shape and escape death due to old age. These amphibious mammals, like the other enigmas such as duckbill platypus are truly unique. Firewalkers have a diaphragm and are warm blooded therefore mammal but have amphibious qualities to their skin and eyes and avian quality to their bones.

    Physiological:
  1. SKIN
They can absorb water and oxygen directly through the skin like a frog when swimming. This gives them the ability to live fully aquatic if necessary. Though one may never need to come on land, One must return to their water. Each member normally has a fresh water pond free of salt and pollutants it can return to when needed. Normally they will sleep in water. The longest one can be out of water is 3 weeks after the alien species dehydrates and begins to become ill. Their skins are very sensitive to vibrations and temperature changes allowing them in a sense to see and hear with their skin.

  2. EYES
Their eyes are like a frogs allowing them to see as well in water as out. They also have great night vision. Their eyes can heal small cuts and burns.

  3. SKELETON
Their skeleton is unique in three ways. The first way is that the bones of their skeleton is hollow. This allows them to be lighter than they look and helps during flight. Though the bones are as durable as a human they are far more flexible. Firewalkers are able to flatten their bones out and then retract them inside other bones through the use of thin membrane muscles which cover their bones, thus shortening their skeleton. This is the second way that their skeletal system is unique. The third and final way is that they do not have any large bones. Human skeletons are made up of 206 bones but Firewalkers have a lot more. For example, a human femur is one bone but a Firewalker has several smaller bones held together by a membranous muscle to make up what in a human is one bone. This provides the ability to shuffle and change their skeletal structure. When fully extended and relax they have the form of what many cultures identify as a dragon. Thus mistaking them quite often as being a dragon.

  4. ORGANS
They have the same internal organs as humans. As some humans have learned organs can be squished. However they have a unique quality to the membranes of their organs that allow then to squish their organs safely when shifting into a smaller body.

  5. MUSCLES
As mentioned earlier Firewalkers have a thin membranous muscle which allows them to shuffle , move, flatten and retract their bones. This is part of their shifting ability. Their muscles also provide them with more strength than your average human for less muscular development.

  6. OTHER
This alien species also has unique makeup of their cells. This allows the Firewalker their further shifting abilities of changing the appearance and feel of their skin to fur or scales. So a member of this species is able to take any humanoid or animal form. However they can not look like someone else or change their gender. When they shift they look as they would if they were born that species.

  7. IMMORTALITY
One of the most amazing things about the Firewalkers is that at the end of their life span they do not die. When a Firewalker reaches the end of his or hers 1200 (Earth) years life span they spontaneously combust. Old cells are secreted and burned off and through a unique form of transdifferation, similar to the Turritopsis nutricula. Within a few hours of molting and burning off the old the Firewalker reverts to preadolescences (approx. 12 Earth years) to begin a new life cycle. This makes them nearly immortal, but they can be injured, get sick and be killed.

  8. GROWTH AND DEVELOPEMENT
Though conception, gestation and birth are identical to that of human reproduction. Firewalkers have more of a control. A Firewalker doesn't get pregnant unless she consciously allows it to happen when with her mate. They normally won't have children unless there is a sudden drop in their population through an accident or death in some other way. When one is born he or she is very small approx. 20-24 inches and is in the form of a dragon. The newborn is dark blood red but as it grows the red coloring becomes more a fire engine red and remains that color through out his or hers childhood. This is known as the red age. Quickly they grow in size and slowly then learn to manipulate their bones and take humanoid form. Though the dragon form is their true form, their natural humanoid form resembles that of an elf. As one approaches preadolescences the red changes. For females it lightens to a pearlescent glittering pink and males a violet color. As they move through adolescences to young adulthood they become a pearlescent light green (both sexes) and the green becomes darker through out their adult life until it looks black. This is their green age. As they grow elderly, the dark green (looking nearly black) slowly turns gold. Eventually at the very end of their life span they are completely gold. This is the gold age. The red age, the green age, the gold age are three ages in a single life cycle. The changes of colors is slow and occurs over time often causing them to have both pink or violet and green or dark green and gold. These colors are more visible when they are in the dragon form.

  9. APPERENCE
The appearence of the Firewalker can change but in their natural humanoid form. They resemble elves. They have small scale like bones (which looks like flakes from the inside of an oyster shell) on different areas of their body. The scales will carry the color of their age. (red for red age etc.) Under their hair their skull is covered in them and their hair often glitter with very very small traces of these scales, giving their the look of having glitter in it at times. The scales come down their face like side burns giving them a very exotic look (both sexes). Small traces of the scales are in their eye brows and the scales line their eyes in a very exotic fashion coming down their nose slightly. This almost gives them a feline look. The scales also trail their spine and solar plexus. These scales are also present around the females nipples and in both sexes pubic area. In all these delicate places the scales are soft like eyebrow hairs. The scales can also be found on the extremities. They form long claw-like finger nails and diminish as the trail leads from the finger nail along the finger almost being non existence at the knuckle. it is found in their webbed fingers and small scales are found on a small webbed fin located on the form arm. This fin inst large or gaudy. The legs feet and toes are the same as the fingers hands and arms. their ears are pointed. They have large cat like fangs. On their back they have skin flaps which lay flat on the spine but from the spine this skin opens and reveals their wing cavity where one can tuck it's wings in. If the wings are unfolded and drawn the flaps lay flat under the wings but if the dragon like wings are folded into the cavity the flaps lay over the wings causing the wings to be invisible. They have venom sacs in the back of their mouth, the fluid is highly flammable. Their tears can heal burns and small cuts.

  10. Powers of the mind
  11. PYROKENESIS
Why are they called Firewalkers by many? They can create fire through pyrokenesis. When provoked, upset, or angry their breath becomes warm until it begins to catch fire and their feet catch on fire burning the place they stand or where they walk. They can also focus their power to ignite their entire body. Though the core where their body is, is cold the aura around it can be extremely hot causing anything around them to catch on fire. They can create fireballs and ignite their venom as they spray it on someone. In this way they are also fire breathers. Using this ability in extreme can dehydrate them and cause them to need water faster. They can be burned.

  12. EMPATHY
It is limited but they do have it

  13. TELEPHATHY
Stronger with their own race but limited outside their species. In fact one reason they do not have a name for their species is because they never developed a spoken language. When meeting other races they had to learn a spoken language.

  14. There Culture:
  15. TREE GROVES
They have been mistaken as Dryads because they will quite often bond with a single tree. This tree is normally found close to their pond. In their society they are protective of the trees. They are very close to nature and believe a little technology goes a long way

  16. WORDS OF POWER
Firewalkers believe in balance. A form of ying yang philosophy. They believe the big bang was caused when two opposite energies came together (like a magnet) and this cosmic energies can be found in all things within in the universe. they believe that things we symbolize as being good and evil are not they just are. Furthermore that it is when they become imbalanced that evil appears. In their philosophy darkness is not evil and light is not good. One would argue if you live in the desert is the light good or is the darkness. A perfect example, because in this light is out of balance and then becomes the one that takes life or is evil. They believe that life must maintain balance in motion. Like and old handcar, the opposite energies must give up to each other in an even flow allowing life to flow and not become stagnant. Day must give to night and night to day. The Sun must give to the moon and the moon to the sun. Female must give to male and male to female. When one is imbalance and doesn't give to its opposite there is no movement and life becomes what we see as evil. Firewalkers believe to help maintain balance and enlightenment one must strive to obtain 25 words of power in transcendence. It is a personal struggle and the words of power can be symbolic or literal, it is different for each person. In their culture there is 25 lesser words of power and 25 greater words of power. Lesser words of power is easy to learn but one must strive to transcend a lesser word to a greater word. These words are represented by 25 glyphs each in the shape of a dragon. When a line is under the glyph it represents a lesser word. If it is above it represents a greater word. If there is no line it represents the word of power in transcendence. These glyphs are etched in swords and weapons, on buildings and arch ways and stitched in the hem of their clothing. Making them visible for all to see. They are also tattooed on their bodies. The words of power in transcendence are: (lesser word of power, greater word of power)

  17. FAMILIAR, COMPANION, FAMILIAR SPIRIT, COMPANION SPIRIT,
5% of the Firewalkers get a calling at puberty. This calling is to serve as what many call a companion spirit or familiar. Like the samurai to his lord the Familiar serves a magic user. A familiar chooses their master but once they choose they obey him or her fatefully until the covenant is fulfilled. A covenant is the oath that the familiar makes. A symbol of the covenant is symbolized by a box with the Words of Power etched on it. Inside is an amulet with a diamond shamed amulet containing the words in power glyphs. This amulet is for the master to wear. Also there is a collar which also has a diamond shamed amulet containing the words in power glyphs. This is to be worn by the familiar. The amulets are connected and through the amulet a Master can see and hear what his or her familiar sees or hears. A familiar can also be alerted if their master is in danger. Inside the cover of the box is the oath. it reads:
    • Companion and Friend: Because the path of magic is a solitary one
    • Aid and helper: because even the smartest witch can forget a dash od this and a smart wizard can misplace a word
    • Guardian and protector: because sometime thier are dangerous to be conjured or enemies outside
    • Spy and messenger: So a witch and wizard can always be everywhere
    • Keeper of secrets: As silent as the grave. Let this be our most sacred vow. Let us never speak of the secrets of our masters not even to the angel of death when she comes.

  18. WRITTEN LANGUAGES
One of the Firewalkers writing technique is a form of calligraphy. They writing the sentence nor horizontal or vertical but in a form so when you zoom out the sentence or para graph for a glyph or series of glyphs.
